Ever wonder about whether all of those Internet Marketers are really making the big bucks? Are there really secret formulas for success that will transform you into a millionaire overnight?

I see hundreds of these Internet Success offers cross my desk every week, thousands per year. Sure, you've seen them; attention grabbing "squeeze" pages with a hurry, limited time offer with promises to make you yet another one of the rich masses. There are many of these and I doubt you could qualify them as a real website since there's no sign of any real menu system. They are created quickly and purposely built to provide quick income...to the owner.

Virtually all of these operate on a single, fundamental principal of human nature and that is that everyone is hoping to "get rich quick". I would go so far as to suspect they are a part of the same group that is hoping to win the lotto or hit it big in Vegas too!

The real truth is that there are many online businesses that you can start very economically (yes, even in hard times) that are legitimate and with effort, persistence and planning and catapult you to a very lofty income status. Simple as that. What's the trick? There's no trick involved, I've already told you...effort, persistence and planning.

Problem with this is that it is probably not what you wanted to hear. How about silver bullet SEO programs? Google keyword courses perhaps? Sure, you can always buy your way onto the first page of Google but at what price? Can you justify the ROI (return on investment) just to pin that badge on your chest? Internet marketing is highly competitive and not as simple as build a website, offer false promises and drive off to the bank in your new Ferrari!

You see, one of the problems with these "magic formulas" is that while the author of the program has the necessary skills and experience to pull it off, what you're being told is that "anyone can do it". In short, there is no static solution to a dynamic set of obstacles and the Internet is about as dynamic as life can get.

To succeed (and it's not really a secret) you must learn quickly and master specific skills and you most certainly need to work hard at it until you have enough to afford the luxuries but not before. Learn to run lean, think quick and above all, never, ever give up - it will come to you.

Whatever you do, carefully choose your business and stick to it. Far too many people fail not because of their product or service but because they did not do what they should have done for long enough to see the results.

What type of business you might ask? Well that certainly depends on your passion and we'll have to cover that in another article.

    I think the general public is taken in by the fact that making the big bucks is something so easy that even "a caveman can do it". The probable truth is that many of those Internet marketers have a great deal of experience and are always on the cutting edge. By the time most people find out about a technique, the wave has passed, like the laws of diminishing returns.
